Catch Up

It's hard to believe it but our time in New Haven is up! We had a great summer with LOTS of adventures and highlights:

• Weekend trips to Plymouth and Cape Cod, Boston (got to see Eric), NYC, and Pittsburgh (great Zuback family reunion!)
• Many day trips to the beach
• Lots of success for Tom in his internship (job well done and awesome contacts made)
• Playdates to the splash pad and parks
• We made some awesome new friends that it breaks our hearts to leave
• Mary's cousin Chris and Tom's uncle Gary each came into town for business and we got to spend a few hours with them. 
• Tom received not one, but TWO scholarships for his efforts during this past school year. He worked really hard for both of these scholarships and they were very much deserved. So proud of him. 
• While in New Haven, Moses became a steady walker AND cut his first 4 teeth. Champion.

Now we're back to our lovely home in Pittsburgh! We've moved into our new apartment above our friends, the Olsens. It has been an absolute dream living here. We were nervous about the size but we've made it work and it's not nearly as cramped as we feared it would be. Because we share a house with friends downstairs, we can just put our kids to bed, leave the monitor downstairs with the Olsens, and go off on dates! We, of course, do the same courtesy for them and it is a great trade off. We're also in a food co-op with them and two other families from church where one day a week, you cook dinner for all 4 families and then for 3 other days, they cook dinner for you! It's absolutely wonderful and I know it will feel even more awesome once our sweet little girl arrives. 

Because I am lazy and Sarah is much more eloquent than me, I will refer you here for fun pictures and narrative of our Labor Day adventure to Moraine State Park. Our boys are all close in age (well, Eli is almost a year older than Joey, but Moses and Connor are 2 weeks apart) and they are all best buds. It is so sweet to watch them play together, even though my boys tend to scream "MINE!" more than the seagulls in Finding Nemo.

We had a slight, don't-worry-about-it-I'm-fine incident and had to make a quick visit to the hospital. We liked that Tom was listed as one of my personal belongings.
