18 months old...hallelujah!!

Today we crossed a milestone we have been eagerly anticipating for many months: Joey turned 18 months old! For those of you who read this that aren't Mormons, let me explain the significance of this to you:

Mormons attend church on Sundays like most Christian religions. Normal. Mormons, though, attend church for 3 hours every Sunday. Not so normal. For the first hour, we have a meeting called "Sacrament Meeting" in which everybody meets together for the regular, typical church service. Then for the last two hours, you attend your Sunday School type classes. The Sunday School classes are broken up by age range for the kids and then the adults all meet together. Well, when children reach 18 months old, they are allowed to finally attend nursery (the youngest Sunday School class).

So what does that mean for us? That means no more chasing Joey around through the halls and classrooms for 2 hours. It means Joey is happier because he can be in a room filled with toys and snacks. It means that mommy and daddy are happier because we can actually feel the Spirit in our meetings again. Everybody is happier. Granted, we still have Moses that gets to stay with us for the whole 3 hours but, at least for now, he's easy. Joey, on the other hand: not so easy.

Don't get me wrong. We love Joey more than words can say. We love spending time with him and playing with him. That being said, we also appreciate those hours at church where we can go and worship and be spiritually edified without constantly having to break away with a screaming toddler.

Oh, and PS. Papa finally got to meet Moses. It was a happy day, as you can see.
